Toucans live in the rainforest canopies of Central and South America, inhabiting tropical and subtropical forests from southern Mexico to northern Argentina. They are brightly marked and have large, often colourful bills. The family includes five genera and over 40 different species. Toucans are arboreal and typically lay two to four eggs in their nests.
