In Greek mythology, the Minotaur was a monstrous creature with the body of a man and the head of a bull. He was confined within a labyrinth, a complex maze-like structure built by Daedalus and his son Icarus on the island of Crete. The Minotaur was the offspring of Pasiphae, the wife of King Minos, and a bull sent by the sea god Poseidon.
